We were made for love. The kind of love that is nothing short of self-sacrificial and dead to self. The love of Christ is RAVISHING in every way, shape and form and is MIRACULOUS. Please, please, please listen to this song. Let it rock you - "open your mind and heart - your entire being - to receive My Love in full measure." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2ZCIp0HiRo&feature=related
I feel like I have SO MUCH to learn about love. I have been blessed to know the love of God for years, have a loving family, have many loving friends, am in love - but my gosh, this song was a powerful, knock the wind out of me moment that just showed me God's love. After reading today's devotional about an hour ago, I began asking God what out of it should jump out at me. What should be my focus from it. I wrote in my journal two things: 1) the love of Christ surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:16-19) and 2) Jesus, I am always trying to understand your love, to get to a place where I can see it logically with my own eyes.
I think that listening to that song and seeing a glimpse even of Jesus' love is hopeful, convicting, humbling and incredibly wonderful all at the same time. Convicting because it is so sacrificial - not always my number one trait. But let's not focus on that. God LOVE US! And all He asks is that we love Him with this same love - "With arms wide open, heart expose, with arms wide open, bleeding, sometimes bleeding."
God's love is POWER. The evil one flees at the truth of it. Jesus, let us use the power of Your Perfect Love every second of every day, and we desire to love You and others with Love of an equal measure. THANK You for loving us. We are open to You and want to receive every bit of it.
