...am WITH you and FOR you.
Both of these statements are straight truth. That is not optional. What is optional is our recognition of these truths.
"When you feel some lack, it is because you are not connecting with Me at a deep level."
Like Aubrie pointed out and the book said a few days ago, our time connecting with our Maker is nothing short of essential. Lack of time with God causes empty space in our hearts and minds, forcing us to fill that space with our own selves. Yuck. Consequently, we begin to notice worry, anxiety, fear, negativity, etc. in ourselves. In other words, things that just are not good and are evidence of the absence of a recognition of God (just like Kristin noted with her triggers - so true). We don't remember that God is with us and for us when we don't take the time to be with Him.
It makes perfect sense. If you stopped talking to your best friend for no reason, it wouldn't take long to feel like you were lacking in something, whether it was a laugh, being able to talk about something, or a genuine hug. The CRAZY but amazing thing is that when we stop seeking a deepness with God, He is so awesome that we find ourselves lacking in peace and joy and wisdom, etc. Such cool and great and wonderful and fun things come from God! Woo, thanks God. We must only keep our focus on His Presence.
Two quotes from Oswald Chambers totally support this:
"A worker who lacks this serious controlling emphasis of concentration on God is apt to become overly burdened by his work. He is a slave to his own limits, having no freedom of his mind, body, or spirit."
"The only concern of Christian workers should be their concentration on God."
How refreshing and exciting! He naturally offers us so much when our hearts are near to Him.
So amen to this weekend starting with a perspective of freedom and peace in His mighty presence. Happy Friday :)
love,
jaymee.
